It's not that I've gotten lazy here, I've just sort of been tying up as many loose ends a I can, and have moved AGAIN, to what will probably be the last apartment that I'll ever live in again til we buy the house.
Fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff.......
I hate moving, but I like the new apartment, and my roommate is cool and the place comes with a derpy half siamese cat that is cute and likes to fight. D'awwwww.
I'm right in what used to be one of the crappiest gang infested shitholes in the city, (I used to work out here in a tattoo shop about 8 years ago) and upon moving in was delighted to find a bunch of families and a community garden in what used to be a street full gangs and bullet holes and crackheads. Nice. I'm also pleased that it's not been totally gentrified, which is usually what happens when you kick out the gangs, and it's mostly people who were there the whole time and got sick of the bullshit.
I love seeing communities get it together. I remember shooting some city shots around a few years ago, of this place and the difference is like night and day. There's still graffiti all over the place, but it's been made into actual art, and it's sort of astounding how HAPPY people are in the hood. Wooooo. My faith in humanity has been restored for at least 15 minutes!
Bonus, my work is a lot easier to get to, and we're closer than ever to finally picking out a house and doing the "responsible adult" dance, and I just acquired a new camera lens to play with, so keep an eye out for new things.
I've already done some fun projects with Adam Selzer again, and have been collecting pictures of graffiti and murals, so all i need to do is upload some stuff......
