Deck the halls or whatever you can hang stuff on

Sat Dec 5, 2009, 4:37 AM
Wow. I just HAD to go out and shoot photos on the lake with Annie on THE COLDEST DAY OF THE WEEK. Staggering genius there. 20 degrees and a 15 degree windchill on an open giant lake will give you severe windburn. Nice. You can totally tell where I was wearing giant sunglasses, because my face is all red and chapped except for the giant untouched circles where they were. Awesome.

The pictures turned out nicely though, and I got some totally sweet ornaments at the dollar store. Niiiiice.

Random Fact

An explanation for the nature of some of the things I draw and shoot:

Where I lived growing up was a cross between "Lake Wobegone," "Deliverance," "The X Files", "the Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" by way of the Altamont free concert.

I got the hell out before the place ate me along with everyone else, but I can't say that I left unscathed, and sometimes I think it shows in some of the portraits I shoot. One day I want to go back and shoot a revisitation of the things there that scare me, but I'm not quite ready yet.

Do you believe in some sort of afterlife?
